Charterhouse Productions, organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), have announced the nominees for the Gospel Artiste of the Year category for the upcoming VGMA24 awards. The nominees were unveiled at a press conference held in Accra on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
The nominees for the Gospel Artiste of the Year are Celestine Donkor with her hit song “Final say,” Piesie Esther with “Waye me yie,” Diana Hamilton with “My meditation,” Joe mettle with “Kadosh,” Perez music with “hewale lala,” Bethel Revival Choir ft Edwin Dadson with “Tegbe Tegbe,” Ewura Abena with “This far,” and MOG music with “Mala.”
Diana Hamilton, who won the Gospel Artiste of the Year and Gospel Song of the year in 2022, is looking to defend her title against a formidable list of gospel artists Piesie Esther, who has made her mark in the industry with her “Waye me yie” song in the Year in 2022, is also in contention for the Gospel Song of the Year
Speaking at the press conference, the CEO of Charterhouse, Theresa Ayoade, expressed her excitement about the upcoming event. “The VGMA is an event that celebrates the rich and diverse music industry in Ghana. We are excited to showcase the talents of our gospel artists who continue to inspire and uplift us with their music,” she said.
The VGMA is Ghana’s biggest music awards event and recognizes the achievements of musicians and other music industry players in the country. The event is sponsored by Vodafone Ghana and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.
The organizers of the event have assured all interested parties that the 24th edition of the awards will be a memorable one, with a lineup of exciting activities and performances to look forward to. The nominees for the various categories will be announced at a later date, and the awards ceremony itself is scheduled to take place later in the year.
