Politics is usually regarded as a dirty thing. In recent years, many scandals have occurred, making ordinary people feel indifferent to the political system.
Ghana’s style of politics can never be left out of the narrative because of the recent occurrences in impending electoral processes.
Can we connect or affiliate Christianity which is a religion that was derived from Jesus Christ as a sacred system of living, based on the Bible as sacred scripture to politics that has been tagged as dirty?
Rev. Moses Kwame Obeng Pinkrah, the senior pastor of Great Commission Church international, who couples up as the head of the religious department on Hello Fm, on his famous programme called “Bible Adesua” on the said radio station on Sunday, 18th October, 2020 stated that, Christians should involve themselves in the political train in order to help build the country.
He reiterated that, without the involvement of Christians in politics, there can’t be truthfulness, sincerity, good accountability, and in the other hand, proper management of the system.
Someone will ask, there are killings, bribery and corruption and other vices in our new general politics. Aren’t there already “self-acclaimed” Christians?
There is also the belief that leadership in politics in the country has been placed by God as said in the book of Romans 13:1-7 but there has been a doubt as quoted by the Bible verse linking to chaotic situations and instability caused by some “chosen” leaders.
My question: Are there Christian politicians in our new generational political environment?…If yes, where are they? If no, do we need them as Rev. Pinkrah affirms?.
