Piesie Esther, the latest queen of Gospel music, has entered a new era of success by earning seven nominations at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, including the highly coveted Artist of the Year award. This achievement was largely expected due to the massive success of her hit single, “W’ayɛ Me Yie,” which swept across the country after its release on June 16, 2022.
Charterhouse Ghana, the organizers of the nation’s most prestigious awards scheme, VGMA, recently announced the nominees, and Piesie Esther received enviable nominations in various categories, such as Best Gospel Song, Best Gospel Artiste, Best Female Vocalist, Best Songwriter, Best Music Video, Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year.
Expressing her gratitude for the overwhelming recognition, Piesie Esther said, “I’m truly thankful to God, Charterhouse Ghana, the VGMA board, and all key industry players who found me worthy of these nominations. I’m eternally grateful also to my family, friends, management team, fans, loved ones, the Church of Pentecost, and everyone who has supported the Piesie Esther ministries and brand from day one. I simply couldn’t have made it this far without you all.”
Piesie Esther urged her fans and supporters to focus on voting to ensure victory in all nominated categories, stating that winning these awards would only be a foretaste of their eternal reward on the final day when they stand before the righteous Judge.
The 24th VGMA edition will take place on May 13, 2023, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, preceded by a nominees jam event in selected regions of Ghana.
