Debuting her first album “Osoro Bekasa,” in 2007, Diana Antwi Hamilton has emerged as ChristianLens Ghanaian top artist of the year in 2020, the year under review.
Born on September 20, 1988, in Kumasi, the songwriter Diana Hamilton has been making a ton of positive impact with her blended style of singing. Without any single doubt, this great woman has been delivering such ravishing and Christian content in a form of lyrical composed, music.
Third of eight children, Diana had her early education at the Morning Star School, Cantonment in Accra. At an early stage, Diana Hamilton, 13, served as a backing vocalist for Francis Agyei. She completed her secondary education at Ghana National College in Cape Coast. Her passion for saving lives through her songs wasn’t all but also had that same passion for saving lives, physicality. She decided to study and practice Nursing.
Digging more into her musical career, the iconic gospel singer had her second album released in 2010 under the theme “Ensi wo yi.” The album enjoyed amazing airplay which lightened her path into prominence as well as gained her a solid foundation in the Ghana Gospel Music Industry.
Jumping from the timeline, Diana Antwi Hamilton had a great year in 2019, where she had six nominations at the African Gospel Music and Media Awards, these songstress managed to grab the “Artiste Of Excellence Europe” award, Diana won Best Female Artiste at the African Gospel Awards 2015, Best Artiste Europe at the Africa Gospel Awards, 2011. In the same year, the gospel Artiste headlined “Harvest Praise ’19” alongside Tim Godfrey when many applauded her for her fantastic performance.
The award-winning singer takes much delight in cooking and designing her own clothes. She is married to Dr. Joseph Hamilton, the couple has been blessed with a set of twins.
In 2014, Diana Hamilton debuted her annual event “Experience With Diana Hamilton” which has brought her a lot of glorious testimonies and relief. Hope has followed her whenever she ministers. Her tremendous musical career has taken her across the continent to minister to a lot of people, who have pronounced her bless. Such countries include; the UK, Belgium, German, America, Italy, etc.
In the year 2020, Diana Hamilton bagged an award at the VGMA as the top Gospel Artiste Of the Year, she was also honoured with Gospel Song of the Year at the GMA-USA 2020. Her song W’asem (Your Word) has transcended to impact many Christian lives to hold on to God’s Word even in times of troubles and trials. Prior to her achievement, she has been listed in a total of seven nominations for the upcoming Ghana National Gospel Music Awards.
The songstress’s latest single, which is still trending on Bloomplay as well as many other streaming music platforms, “ADOM” has been the jam for this festive season looking at how gracious the Almighty has been towards us during the pandemic. The song has so far gained 2.3 million views on YouTube and is still counting.
