The powerhouse vocalist, Tasha Cobbs Leonard has been named the top gospel artist of the decade as the Billboard chart indicates.
News of the top honor came late last week, as Billboard began announcing its year-end and decade-end charts. Cobbs Leonard was also named the Top Female Gospel Artist for the 3rd consecutive year.
Increasingly drawn to her passion for God through music, Tasha has achieved so much in her career alone this year. Early this year, Cobbs has earned two amazing RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America): one Platinum certification for her hit single “Break Every Chain,” and the other, Gold certification (her third) for the #1 radio single “You Know My Name.”
During the 51st Annual GMA Dove Awards, Tasha Cobbs Leonard was honored with top Gospel artist of the year, she also won Artist of the Year at the 35th Annual Stellar Awards. With perseverance and determination, she has had an amazing year.
Prior to these awards, Tasha had the opportunity to be the special guest at the Dolly Parton & Friends Christmas special presented by SiriusXM & Pandora on December 4th. Given this huge honour, she was invited to perform a special rendition of the famous Christmas song, “O Holy Night.”
Earlier this month, the Grammy award winner took to the stage with R&B legend Ne-Yo for a memorable performance of “The Christmas Song” for the Our OWN Christmas Special.
The special aired on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network on December 1, but can still be viewed on the network website.
Not to forget her latest inspiring album dubbed: Royalty: Live At The Ryman which featured R&B icon Ciara. Tasha Cobbs Leonard’s current single, “In Spite Of Me,” has already catapulted her to the Top 20 on the BDS Gospel Radio chart, proving to be the fastest-rising single of her career.
