On the 15th, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Chairman Lee Man-hee, hereinafter referred to as the Shincheonji Church of Jesus) will hold an online prayer meeting to wish for the end of the COVID-19 as well as for the government, medical staff, patients, families of the patients, and citizens who are devoting their efforts for the prevention. The Shincheonji Church of Jesus announced that it will hold a virtual online prayer meeting titled, “The Third Global Religious People’s Prayer Meeting” on the 15th. They also suggested that all religious leaders who share the same hope, join together with one heart.
The prayer meeting will be aired live on the official YouTube channel of Shincheonji Church of Jesus at 3 pm on that day. Both domestic and overseas members will participate. In addition, any religious people wishing to end the COVID-19 pandemic can participate. This prayer meeting was inspired by Chairman Lee Man-hee, wishing for the end of COVID-19 in the global village as well as effective and rapid development of treatment. In addition, Chairman Lee Man-hee and Shincheonji Church of Jesus provided an opportunity for a third large-scale plasma donation of 4,000 people, who were recovered COVID-19 patients from the Shincheonji Church of Jesus. This prayer meeting is meaningful in that it allows people to overcome the global crisis by transcending denominations and religions—bringing all faiths together in prayer to overcome the current pandemic.
As Chairman Lee Man-hee states, “Too many people are suffering from COVID-19. In particular, many infections occurred in the church in February. Both members and citizens suffered a lot. We must actively step forward and pray to God for the end of COVID-19 and for the country and the citizens. In addition, as the whole world is suffering from COVID-19, let all religious people around the world pray to unite the hearts and to pray that we will quickly escape from the disaster.”
In addition, Chairman Lee emphasized, “To prevent the congregation from becoming infected with COVID-19, even if the closure of the church facilities is lifted, we should not conduct face-to-face worship or gatherings of many people. We should provide thorough quarantine measures and maintain the congregation with a heat meter.” Since the spread of COVID-19 in February this year, Shincheonji Church of Jesus has been praying for the end of the COVID-19, the safety of the quarantine authorities and medical staff, and for the recovery of patients during every service.
An official from Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “The intention of this prayer meeting is to unite the hearts of all members to pray for the rapid development of the cure and for the end of the COVID-19 ahead of the 3rd large-scale plasma donation with the participation of the 4,000 cured members. We will do everything we can with a responsible attitude until the end of the COVID-19 outbreak.”
