Over the few months, one can say America has been experiencing worse of plague in their history; people dying of COVID-19, communities experiencing racist attacks, wildfires destroying properties. As these disasters surround people in America, the president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), Franklin Graham has called for a “National Prayer March” in Washington DC.
According to Franklin Graham, “America is in trouble and in distress but we have hope — our hope is in Almighty God.” He is urging all Americans in the State to come together on the eve of September 26 at the National Mall where the event will commence, they will pray for their leaders and the upcoming November’s elections seeking God’s mercy to heal their land.
Franklin told the public in his announcement that he believes in God and not any political parties, “Our hope isn’t in Republicans or Democrats. Our hope is in God.” Graham said.
He continued to encourage believers that as they joined faith together, they are going to do one of the most important thing they always do, which is to prayer in the name of Jesus and as they do this the power of God will be more in America.
According to T & D, On Sept. 26, Graham will lead Prayer March 2020 in Washington, D.C. The event begins at noon at the Lincoln Memorial and will end at the U.S. Capitol. Along the 1.8 mile route, the march will pause at seven locations for focused prayers on key issues in our nation today.
In the year 1952, Billy Graham, the father of Franklin Graham declared September 26th as National Day of Prayer and said that America should always recognised God and that He is the only one that can help America.
In an interview with CBN presenters on Faith Nation, Graham said that this prayer March will focus more on revival and repentance. He said that America as a country has turned their back on God, they have forgotten God in school, government and other sects of lives. Only God can bring America back to its toes, and we need to put God back in these areas. We need God’s help. Only God can heal our land and bring us together. He also discussed about the President’s decision to choose a new Supreme Court leader.
In his interview, he told the people of America that if they will call the name of God for the upcoming elections, God will hear their voice. He said that America has sin greatly and there is coming a day they will pay for their sin, which is aborting of babies in Mother’s womb.
Franklin Graham ended by saying, “Prayer is our most important weapon. It allows us to go directly to the King of Kings, directly to stand before the throne of grace and make our petitions known directly to God.”
