Fear and hopelessness arose in people around the globe as a result of the pervasive Coronavirus (COVID-19), with a total of over 30 million confirmed cases and a count number of 957,790 deaths, many people have tried to seek restoration in religion and faith as their only hope.
Many countries are facing famine, and dramatic economic decline is being felt by many developed nations. While violent tropical storms and wildfires have been the American side of the story which have caused a severely negative impact, many lives and properties have been lost and burned.
An International Christian group called Shincheonji which has members from Chicago, LA, Atlanta, and as far as Korea and Ethiopia responded positively to this impact by organizing a special prayer service to ask God to heal the world which was held virtually. On Wednesday, September 16, 2020.

They appealed to like-minded people of all religions to join in prayer with one heart. The theme was, “All the religions of the world must work together to overcome the pain and crisis caused by COVID-19.”
Over 200 Christians in Chicago and several across the world gathered at 7:00 pm to join the prayer for about an hour. Members who participated were all wearing masks to honor those on the front lines treating COVID-19 and those researching for a cure, hopefully. They also wore white to show respect to those who have paid the ultimate price with their lives.
Members of Shincheonji thought wise that to continue this act of prayer, they have set up a “Prayer Board” where users can privately submit their prayers in their native language.
The amazing thing is that, Shincheonji has multilingual Christians who translate over two-dozen languages including Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, Hindu, Farsi, and many African dialects. The group is setting the ambitious goal of having 1 million users submit a prayer.
In an official statement, the church stated: “We are trying to break down the walls of churches, denominations, and religions and pray together to overcome the disaster in a situation where the world suffers from COVID-19. We believe that heaven will be moved if we pray in our respective places with a single heart.”
They ended the prayer meeting by encouraging people around the world not to lose hope rather they should have their faith to stay positive and that it will help us to overcome this tribulation, also they urge us to never stop preserving the Word given to us.
