I know you reading will wonder why that title, could it be because it’s my first official writing or because I feel we’re about to revolutionize the world with digital media propagation of the gospel or could be all about Jesus our first love?
As a student of the bible(word), I could easily have been selfish to come up with my own thoughts and little knowledge on the things of God just to get it published. I will like to use John 3:16 as my main scripture reference. Before then, let’s consider what Ravi Zacharias once addressed during a UN meeting with various leaders both religious and political leaders when they met in the middle east around Jerusalem. He said “a few miles from here is where Abraham was about to slaughter His son but God provided another sacrificial animal and stopped him killing His son (The son’s name He won’t mention because of religious debate).
The same mountain after 2000 years His own son was on that cross but He didn’t hold back but He slaughtered Him on the cross. If we were to forego earthly wealth, prestige, and other fleshly desire and look to that cross on the same mountain where He held the hand of Abraham not to use the knife to slaughter His son but provided, where He killed His only begotten son. Will we be killing each other, our sons, daughters, mothers’ and our neighbors over perishable things and goods?”.
When Ravi died I didn’t know until I saw it on someone’s status on WhatsApp and I was shocked how this humble man who had no earthly title or crave for them but made apologetics a household name and answered some challenging questions that scientist used to mock Christianity with and other religions used to attack Christians, I asked myself; does “ Good name is better than riches” exist?.
I decided to use His scenario in my writing to Honor such a man. Yes, He is with His Father in Heaven and eternal life matters more than earthly titles, praises, or honor but His UN meeting made me see my first love and my first practical way of believing or making Christ my main propriety in this world. ChristianLens gave me an opportunity no media house will give me. It wasn’t about qualification, but it was about whom’s I am, most youth will ask me; do you know how many times HR’s and job recruiters have overlooked what’s in me (the Hope of Glory) or who’s I am? In these worrying times, I have come to know my first love should be my first point of call in any situation. It will be so worrying to end up missing eternal life after we been told the way is narrow and after going through harsh times, we must believe there is Hope.
One will ask, what is that Hope? The greatest apostle Paul didn’t even have money for warm clothes when it was summer and the first book of the bible which I believe is Job teaches us longsuffering which ended with double the possession of what He had and that makes my Hope in Christ fulfilling. Apostle Paul learnt one thing from Job not to complain and I think Job did well because He had no one to listen to and there weren’t examples to learn from or reflect on but as for us, we have the bible which helps us and can make us wiser than them if we should depend on it and love our God. If we should be faithful, we will even go through what they went through and excel.
Am supposed to interact with politics, lifestyle, religion, and other institutions as a writer and I guess I will delve deeper into that as time goes on. We are a family now and I started by saying I could have been selfish but I decided to acknowledge Ravi Zacharias and my entire writing was based on the inspiration I got from Him whiles listening to His meetings and experience, I believe in cooperate anointing and inasmuch as we’re all going through our various struggles, I believe together we could solve various problems in institutions like politics or religion and remarkably, revolutionize this world and be glad when the day of judgment comes calling.
I am not here to judge or wouldn’t say Christianity is the ultimate? Or am I here to preach love? I won’t be the one to make anyone’s choices for them but I believe any true believer or any faithful servant of a deity is a good person and will end up where good people do just like Cornelius in the bible. I say this a lot of times that if the Martin Luther King’s or the John Wesley’s were to come back to life am not sure they like to be members of their own church or serve in the churches they established because the current state of their churches is not what they fought for, the revival days are long gone and maybe the Babylonian system is taking over the things of God. Do we have to spend all day digging deep and I believe we need to stride little by little am glad to have you as my audient.
