Come and join hands with me, says God. Come and take my hand and walk with me, even as Adam and Eve walked with me in the garden. Come and learn of me and learn what happened in the garden. Seek me with all of your heart. Begin to seek me in my word and learn about this thing called sin that so many people know so little about. And yet, my Son went to the cross to die so that you might be forgiven, that you might inherit the gift of eternal life.
That you might come to understand my perception, my understanding—what I think about sin, what sin will do to your life, and how sin separates you and I from each other. You must come to understand my way of thinking. Because as the heavens are high above the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. You must come to understand spiritual things. How can I teach you about natural things if you won’t begin to study spiritual things—the things that are eternal, the things that matter, the things that keep you from me, and the things that keep you from receiving the answers to your prayers?
How often, says God, you get angry with me because I don’t answer a prayer that you throw up to heaven and ask me to fix this or that, or to do this or that, or to heal this or that. And you grumble and complain. You can take my name in vain and think that somehow you’re going to manipulate me with your anger, like you manipulate people with your anger. And I say to you, it is not your anger that touches me, but rather faith in what I did for you touches me, says God. Receiving what I did for you—receiving the gift of eternal life, receiving forgiveness for your sins, says God. And understanding what sin is in my eyes, says the Lord.
For I am the Lord your God, the Creator of heaven and earth. And there is nothing that you can do that is more destructive to your life than committing acts of sin against me. But you must seek me in my word to find out those things that I say are a sin, declares the Lord. I love you. I long for you to come to me. I long for you to learn of me. I long for you to receive the gift of eternal life.
Come to me, says God. Let us reason together. Though your sins be as scarlet, I long to make them white as snow. I love you, and I long to draw you unto me. I long for you to know me like you’ve never known me. But you must seek after me with your whole heart. If you seek after me, you will find me, says God. And a peace that passes all understanding will flood your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.
Learn of me, come and find me, discover me, and discover the joy of walking every day hand in hand with the Creator of the universe, declares the Lord.
